Snow provides a unique way of recording the passin Snow provides a unique way of recording the passing-by of various species of wildlife. Their tracks and trails reveal not only what species are hanging around for the winter, but may also reveal some of their behaviours: Are they solitary or travelling as a family? Eating plants or catching prey? Denning in the snow or constantly moving?

Happy Friday everyone! On today's Staff Feature, Happy Friday everyone!

On today's Staff Feature, meet our Conservation Researcher & Analyst , Aiesha Aggarwal.

"I work in this field because the work is fulfilling, the community is caring and supportive, and its fun –what more could you ask for in a job!

When I was very young, my family lived across the street from a wetland. Many of my earliest childhood memories involve the wetland and its creatures. We used to catch frogs in the ditches and cheer for my dad as he helped turtles cross the street. That wetland was the Wilson Point Wetland, a nature reserve owned by The Couchiching Conservancy. Years later, I volunteered for the organization's water testing team and found myself immersed in this wonderful community. I am grateful to be back working at The Couchiching Conservancy, and being able to contribute to the efforts to preserve nature for future generations.

I like to appreciate the little things in nature…like the skinny stick-legs of a chickadee, or a leaf waving “hello” in a breeze, or the bright yellow of goldenrods in low light. Everyday life is made of everyday things, and finding beauty and joy in those things makes me feel grateful to be around to witness them."

One piece of advice she has for future generations is "support one another and drink lots of water (from a reusable water bottle)."
