Located between Kirkfield and Coboconk, this 218-acre property is a jewel of habitats
and wildlife. Raven Lake Wetland Complex, a provincially significant wetland, lays within this privately owned easement and the Talbot River crosses the northern portion. Several species at risk live here as well.

Back in May, we wished a sad farewell to The Villa Back in May, we wished a sad farewell to The Villager - a community news magazine serving Severn Township since 2013. We are excited to share that The Villager has since been taken over and is back under new leadership. It has been a staple in The Conservancy's communications for years and we are grateful to continue to be a part of the community of readers and writers!

Here is our Office & Acquisition Coordinator, Courtney, with her latest Villager column. Visit villagermagazine.ca/ to read it or get your hands on a physical copy!

Plan your fall outing to Alexander Hope Smith Natu Plan your fall outing to Alexander Hope Smith Nature Reserve near Washago.

ℹ️ This 113-acre property is intersected by Boyd's Creek just north of the village of Washago and was donated in two sections. There is a public walking trail that gives you views of the Creek and traverses across the landscape.

The Reserve lies on a bed of exposed Precambrian granite rock. It is part of the Land Between, a band of granite and limestone plains that stretches across the southern Canadian Shield from the Georgian Bay to Kingston. Characteristic of this region are thin soils, rock outcrops, and lowlands of mixed forest and wetland.

The Land Between is a hotspot for biodiversity, and this property provides vital habitat for species at risk.

On-going support from the community ensures this nature reserve is protected and cared for. We do not charge fees to visit this reserve but donations are greatly appreciated! 💚🌎

Visit our website to download our Trail map package for free, link in bio.

Happy World Environmental Health Day! It’s no s Happy World Environmental Health Day!

It’s no secret that there have been unprecedented environmental events happening in the last few years.
We are in the midst of climate change and it is very real. Wildfires are raging. Cities are being flooded that have never experienced flooding before. Hurricanes are becoming a regular occurrence.
These events threaten not only wildlife but humanity as well. Climate change also affects the survival of microbes which contributes to the spread of viruses. If nothing is done to fix our environmental health pandemics like will happen more frequently, affect our global economy and kill more people.

Protecting our landscapes provides a nature-based solution to climate change, helps to mitigate these threats, and gives us things to be hopeful for. Visit the link in our bio to find out how you can support our work.

The theme for this year’s #WorldEnvirnomentalHealthDay is: Standing up to protect everyone’s health each and every day. To find out more on this topic visit the official website: www.ifeh.org

Look at this crew! Over 100 of our volunteers came Look at this crew! Over 100 of our volunteers came out to our Picnic in the Park volunteer appreciation event on Saturday. We had perfect weather, awesome live music performed by volunteers Lisa and Gary, great food, raffle prizes, and smiles all around!

We were also able to give some well-deserved recognition to @ontrillium for their grant that has meant so much to us over the past three years.

The dedication of our volunteers is the driving force behind our conservation efforts, and we couldn't be more thankful for each and every one of you. 🙌

Believe it or not - this is only about a third of our volunteers!
