  • community of aquatic plants includes pond weeds, water lilies, Bladderwort and Water Milfoil
  • adjacent rocky upland has open areas and forests of White Pine, Red Maple and Red Oak
  • home to various turtles and frogs
  • uncommon plants include Round-leaved Sundew, Rose Pogonia and Pink Moccasin Orchid
  • site of an Osprey nesting platform built by Rotary volunteers in 2001

Location:

This nature reserve is located in Severn Township on Orimat Road, which is a private cottage road. The easiest access is by canoe from Sparrow Lake, but it's also possible to walk in by parking in the parking lot at the corner of Torpitt Road and Orimat Road. Walk up Orimat Road for approximately 1-2 kilometres and look for Couchiching Conservancy signs.
