I know. It snowed. Some of us are elated, and we love to rub it in the faces of our friends who are ‘displeased’. And I know that normally we at The Couchiching Conservancy are telling you to get outside and get into nature and enjoy the beauty of the first snow fall… but today I am not going to do that to you. Today, in the spirit of ‘give the people what they want’ I am going to try to entice you to join us at two warm, cozy indoor events!
At The Couchiching Conservancy we find that one thing people always want to know is what events are coming up. The events calendar on our webpage receives lots of traffic, special events like the Adam’s Nature Reserve dedication on October 30th are always well attended and the Passport to Nature is consistently full of enthusiasts. So it is with all of that in mind that I present our upcoming conservation dinner and the confessions of a crazed photographer.
The conservation dinner is to celebrate our success and raise funds for our work. With our recent Black River Wildlands campaign gaining so much momentum and so much support from the community we wanted to keep that momentum going and take advantage of a generous offer by Brewery Bay. Every year they support several local charities with a dinner. They offer their staff, their delicious food, space and entertaining expertise all to benefit the community. This is a wonderfully generous action and one that we recommend you take advantage of.

Four lovely courses for $55.00 per person (with $50.00 of that going directly to The Couchiching Conservancy) by a fantastic local restaurant, what’s not to love? Also thanks to the generosity of The Conservancy’s membership and volunteers we will have a silent auction table full of goodies. We have everything from hockey tickets to stained glass and back again and we welcome you to come in and browse or bid from November 16th to 21st. Help us help the environment by participating in dinner! After all, it’s comfortable, it’s indoors and it’s filling!
[/wc_column][/wc_row]Our second event in the great indoors is a Passport to Nature event, ‘The Confessions of a Crazed Photographer’, a funny and beautiful presentation by a fantastic photographer who has been published by National Geographic, Canadian Geographic, Forbes, Ontario Tourism, Lonely Planet, and popular Photography, Ethan Meleg.
