The AGM is a chance to learn more about the Conservancy and the many initiatives underway to protect nature across our region.

Members can vote and if you’re new to the Conservancy, you can see how we run, ask questions about our work, our nature reserves, and impact. Absolutely all are welcome! You can renew your membership or become a member here.

Protecting What We Love in a Changing Climate

This year’s meeting will feature guest speaker Dr. Anabela Bonada from the Intact Centre on Climate Adaptation, an applied research institute at the University of Waterloo. Dr. Bonada leads research that includes science, risk assessment, and policy to support practical climate solutions. Her presentation is entitled “Protecting What We Love in a Changing Climate.”

Climate change is increasingly disrupting conservation work across our region – from flooding and ice storms to drought, extreme heat, and wildfire smoke. Dr. Bonada will connect recent local climate impacts to practical, evidence-based climate adaptation strategies. Drawing on applied tools and best practices, her presentation will highlight how land trusts and communities can reduce risks while strengthening resilience across landscapes. Attendees will leave with actionable steps to mobilize adaptation efforts and protect natural infrastructure such as wetlands. All members are eligible to vote at the AGM. If you’re new to the Conservancy, the AGM is a great way to see how we operate, ask questions about our nature reserves and programs, and learn about our significant impact. You can also renew your membership, or become a member here, before the meeting.
