The Wilkins Easement

The 65-acre Wilkins easement is located in Oro-Medonte Township and in 2001 was the first Conservation Agreement signed with The Couchiching Conservancy. The property contains hardwood forests, old meadow areas and has several seeps that feed water from the Oro Moraine into the Coldwater River. In the late 1800s cisterns were built to hold this water to replenish the nearby CP Rail locomotives.
