Size: 85-acres (35-hectares)
Status: Not open to the public.
Protected: 2008
Donors: Williams family
Background:
The 85-acre (35 ha) Williams Easement was signed in 2008 to protect a significant reforestation project in Oro-Medonte Township. Starting in 1951 the owner planted a mix of pine and hardwood trees to stabilize the soil and create a future forest. Today the easement property has compartments of mature conifer and 70-year old hardwoods. This easement has a forest management plan applied to it, and tree harvesting is undertaken within rigorous guidelines.
