Forty volunteers, 19 sites, 1,300 hours, a lengthy region-wide drought, and urban pollution are just some of the highlights from this report.
In 2016, the Conservancy’s Water Quality Monitoring Project experienced significant growth. From seven sites and fourteen volunteers monitoring one sub-watershed in 2015, we now have 19 sites and 40 volunteers monitoring streams throughout the Couchiching Region. Monitoring sites now take in nine sub-watershds including: Oro-Medonte, Severn, Carden, and Ramara Township as well as the City of Orillia.
