Leaders Circle members power the Conservancy's work with an annual donation of $1,000 or more. This support provides a steady stream of funding, which allows us to take on new projects, get to work on protecting thousands of acres of wilderness and much more.

Cedarhurst Alvar Nature Reserve
2 hrs (Slow pace, fairly level landscape)

The Cedarhurst Alvar property contains some of the most significant natural habitat in the province. Alvars, naturally open habitats with either a thin covering of soil, or no soil, over a base of limestone or dolostone bedrock, are extremely rare. They exist only in a handful of locations across the globe, including the eastern European Baltic region, the United Kingdom and Ireland. In North America, almost 75 per cent of alvars are in Ontario.

marley Nature Reserve

This Reserve helps fulfill the Conservancy’s long-term plan of assembling connected corridors of habitat. This allows species to move freely across the landscape. We are grateful to add the Marley property to lands already protected along the Black River corridor.

September 11 at 2:00pm
Taylor Nature Reserve

Located between the Adams and  Ron Reid Nature Reserves, the property borders  QEII Wildlands Provincial Park.

The project was undertaken with an 80% donation by the Taylors plus financial support from the Echo Foundation, McLean Foundation, Consecon Foundation, Ganawenim Meshkiki (Eastern Georgian Bay Initiative), Dr. Nancy Ironside and other valued donors.
